Pakistan Flood Relief
Latest News
Firstly can I say a great big thank you for the tremendous support we recieved on the night of Thursday 19th August. The Food for Flood Victims fundraiser raised a grand total of £2832.15 including sales and donations.
As I promised the funds were released immediately and the following day preparations were made for medical and food supplies to be taken to the Baluchistan area where a huge population of people displaced from the city of Jacobabad have fled as theirs is one of the many cities which has been totally submerged and lost in the flood waters.
Your contributions have been shared already, our hope is that we can support these pockets of people until the bigger aid agencies and government bodies can get to them. Some of the attached pictures are distressing (see below), but we have avoided the worst of them.
Your continued support can make all the difference.
Thank you for your fantastic response to the appeal for Food for Flood Victims. It appears that we have grown enough to move the sale location to the Birch Community Center. The wonderful fresh produce most generously donated to us by the members of the Brighton Grove Allotment Society will be be made into a variety of mouthwatering vegetable curries. Thank you to BGAS members. Thanks to the support of many volunteers and helping hands, there will be rice, meat and chicken dishes available too. Loads of food and it will all need to go so let your friends know.
For all who kindly took a minute to circulate our request, we are most grateful.
